ShamM 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2018 (edited) Hello All, My wife is currently in US on H4. Our consultancy has applied for her H1 via consular processing and is approved. We have not yet applied for COS. The consultancy haven't provided the i797 to us. We the have the receipt no with us. We can see the petition as approved in USCIS site. Meanwhile she has secured a full time position in another company. Can we initiate a H1 transfer with just the receipt number? Thanks in advance. Surfer123 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2018 It is a H1B transfer if the beneficiary is already on H1B - it's not the case in your wife's scenario as she is still on H4. Once she gets her visa stamped, she sure can transfer her H1B to another firm. Share this post Link to post
