Wrong I94 Number printed on I797A and trying to switch employer

Hi,

I am currently with employer A and just got a job offer from employer B. Now employer B asked me to send all the documents needed to transfer my H1B from A to B. While I was going through the documents I noticed that last digit of my I-94 number printed on my most recent I797A approval is incorrect i.e lets say my I-94 number is XXXXXXXXXXX3 but my current I797 has XXXXXXXXXXX2. Now my questions are:

1) Can I initiate my transfer process with employer B without getting my current I797A corrected?

2) If answer to question 1) is yes then is there any chance that my petition could get RFE or rejection?

3) If answer to question 1) is no, then what steps do I need to take so that I can switch to employer B smoothly and how much time is it going to take?
