RAMESH KRISHNA
Hello, I am planning to visit India during first week of January 2018 (for 10 days) and my passport expires in March 2018. My visa stamping with the old employer has expired recently and I would need to attend a visa interview during my visit. I am also applying for passport renewal in USA, which would take 1-2 weeks (expecting to have it by December 15) . Can I book an appointment for visa interview with my old passport and update DS-160 later with the new passport details. I am not sure if the visa interview slots would be available if I wait for another 2 weeks. Please advise. Thank you, Ramesh Krishna Link to comment
rksingh
DS160s once submitted cannot be changed. I suggest you contact the embassy for clarification - I think they do allow you to bring your new passport along even though you use old passport number on DS160 but am not completely sure. h4wifelife
I have actually done this back in 2014. You need to contact support, (create a case on their website or email them) and they will ask you to send a scanned document of the new passport, and they will update your profile. Parallelly, you need to create new DS-160 and update it on your profile as well. Link to comment
