Travel to India with 3 months of H1-B Pending

I have my H1-B visa valid until May'18 and I am planning to go for stamping in Feb 18th or so. Also, I am applying for H1-B extension in December and if I get approval for extension before my vacation starts will my VISA stamping be done for Extension valid date or regular H1-B valid date?

Please suggest.

It will get extended to the new extension date (provided of course that you indicate the new H1B extension date either in the DS160 or make the visa officer aware that your H1B was extended...usually they will know this as they will verify your details via PIMS but it never hurts to provide a gentle reminder)
