Job Promotion during I-485 Pending more than 180 days

Hello All,

I am currently working as a individual contributor (Principal Engineer) and getting promoted to Sr. Manager role for the same team. I will be leading the same function that I was responsible for. Since I am on H1B and my I-485 is pending for more than 180 days; my company is filing for H1B Amendment, along with I-485 supplement J for my new role (Sr. Manager). my PD is 13Dec2008 probably few months away to be current. I am just worried how this move would have impact on my Green Card. 

My lawyer told it's a career progression with-in the same job function and should not have any negative impact on my green card processing. I would request you to provide guidance and advice with my case.
