FernSandy
Hello, I am an Indian citizen came to the US on H4 visa on December'2012. In 2015 I changed my status from H4 to F1. I have the H4 visa stamped on my passport which expired on July 2013 as I have not left the US since 2012. I am currently a full-time second-year masters student and intend to apply for Ph.D. programs starting in 2018. I wish to visit Canada but am concerned as my stamped visa on the passport is no longer valid, I wanted to know if I can travel to Canada and get my F1 stamping done in Canada instead of traveling to India. Thank you. Link to comment
pontevecchio
You will need a tourist visa for Canada to do this. It mainly hinges on the name of your Institution. Link to comment
ranjith207
I don't think you need a Visa to re-enter the USA if you are visiting Canada/Mexico for less than thirty days. Automatic Revalidation' rules permit such travel. https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/general/automatic-revalidation.html Link to comment
