ETA Case number not available with Attorney

Hello,

My company has applied for my PERM and it has been more that 5 months since the application has been filed. I wanted to check what is going on with my application so I asked the Company lawyer for the Case number (starting with A-). But he says that  "because it is through the Department of Labor, there is no case number that you can use for tracking.  All update/inquires goes through the attorney on record."

I am in my 6th year of H1b and really worried about the PERM approval. I have the following question:

1. Which website can I check to get the A number if not from attorney.

2. How long does it take nowadays to get the PERM approved.

3. Is there a way for me to find out if my case is being audited and for what reason. 

4. In what circumstances will I have to leave US given that my  PERM is still pending. My H1b started in  September 2012 and there have been no gaps except the Gap of 3 months which I have cumulatively spent outside USA in last 5 years.
