Travel to India while OPT expires before 2 months

Hi everyone,

My First OPT expires on January 31 2018,F1 visa expires on 2020.I need to travel to India in the mid of November 2017,i.e., 2 months before my First OPT visa expires and I will return by end of November.What are the documents that I need to carry to travel to India.Is it safe to travel to India 2months before my First OPT visa expires.
