J1 fear of persecution waiver

I filed fear of persecution waiver which was received by USCIS on April 5th. There is no any changes in application status since then. Any body in same condition?

In similar situation. I-612 received by USCIS on February 21st. Received a request for evidence (RFE) on September 7th. RFE received by USCIS on September 20th. 

You'll wait for at least 6 months to hear anything about your case. In my case it was 6 months + 2-3 weeks.

I612 received April 2017

RFE august 2017

RFE received September 2017

since then nothing! Uscis is again silent don't know for how many days. Don't have much time !

I talked to my lawyer and he said he had a response from USCIS within weeks of RFE in some cases, however in some other cases it took at least 6 more months.

On Nov 1, my case was sent to DOS as well.

Power, 'm 20 days behind you so far. Is your case based on hardship?

on 11/6 I see a change says letter of need received (don't know what that means)

also my i612 and I 613 received date changed from 10/17 to 11/6 :(:(😱. So now you are ahead by 6 days. How can they do this ;)

I am in the same situation. My I-612 was received on May 18th by USCIS and since then no update. But on waiver status check website it shows recommendation was sent on Oct 5th. I don't know what to make out of it. As case is still pending. Any views?

DOS website for my case says there's no information regarding my case. But the USCIS website says they asked for non-USCIS advisory opinion on 11/01, which is the opinion of DOS. Weird. 

Probably DOS is backlogged. As you said Power, as far as DOS is concerned they haven't even received my file. 

In my case DOS is behind, from what I understand waiver applicant in your case USCIS website is behind. Strange. 

I wish y'all the best, I hope you get the waiver before I do. As long as it's positive, I don't care when.

I am  surprised how some people got favorable Rec in 5 days, I keep wondering may be we dint get the best lawyer

Based on the forum lot of people say they update status at midnight eastern night , I check almost every night ! Based on several post I believ there was one poster rags who used to run some software to get the result I wish we had some one like that. Wait is so frustrating and so much of insecurity

Not for me. I think USCIS is back logged. They still have not updated their processing time either.

My DOS page doesn't even show that they received my I-612/613.

I did contact my representatives to inquire about my case though. I've heard that it helps. We'll see if it does.

I think USCIS send 612/613 with final recommendation. Atleast thats what happened to my friend.

seeing your timeline u dint have letter of need. Mine says letter of need received . Did u have something like that and they later removed it. Thanks please pray for us

No I never had "letter of need" in my list. But I think it might be some other documentation related to your waiver basis (hardship). Also you can see that I have "other" which you don't have. Could be the same thing with different names. 

Hopefully you'll get a favorable recommendation soon as well. Best of luck! 

I still have to wait for USCIS's final decision. That could take a few weeks too.

Today USCIS approved my application, surprisingly fast. I'll be waiting the approval notice in the mail.

No, I didn't do any of that. I contacted my congressperson but by the time they replied my case was resolved. But you should do this. Contact your state senator and tell them about your case. They can inquire and it can help you. 

I think it's the basis Power. I'm sure if your case is solid, you'll get it. As far as I can tell, hardship is a little bit different. My basis was persecution and the issue is known at the DOS so probably that's the reason why it was a bit quick.

Nope case is on hold from past 68 days

I think DOS and USCIS have been lazy due to holidays. I hope we see some movement after Christmas or New Year. Please keep us posted here
