greencard2015
I want to bring my parents to US (both below 70 years and have pre-existing conditions) and want to buy insurance for $250,000, which covers pre-existing conditions. I understand that these traveler insurance cannot be used for regular doctor visits but rather can be used in emergencies. I heard that Atlas America has good options for folks below 70 years with pre-existing conditions for up to $1 Million. Has anyone used this insurance and do they really pay or held accountable in case the need arises. I want to buy the insurance upfront while they are in India and want to disclose the kind of pre-existing conditions they have. I would really appreciate if somebody can share their experience and findings in this area. Thanks. Link to comment

pontevecchio
You should do your due diligence and read up extensively on the topic. Most allow for acute exacerbations of a chronic condition. If preexisting conditions have been stable for 90 days or so depending on the company , any new development even if linked to the preexisting condition is allowed for purposes of payment. You should also have them consult their cardiologist or whatever specialist before planning a trip. Link to comment
