SSRSH
I have filled my I485,EAD and AP on July 2017 and completed my FB on mid Aug 2017. Expecting EAD between Oct and Nov 2017(this might change as well). My current project might end in end of Oct /mid of Nov 2017 , with my contacts I was able to find new position in different location. Mostly during end year job markets might freeze. here is my question: If I change my project now then I should file my H1 Amendment for this new position while my 485, EAD are in progress. Should I wait till I get my EAD to find new project or is it safe(any conflicts with H1 amendment,EAD) to accept this new position ? as there are lot of things going with current administration. pontevecchio
Nothing the administration is doing or contemplating doing affects you . Any material change in your H1 situation always needed an amendment or a new petition and one can hardly blame Trump for the existing law. Having said this there is no obligation to work while awaiting AOS. Once you have the EAD, you can widen your search. Link to comment
SSRSH
Thanks for your response and Sorry for the confusion, I should have rephrased my question. 1) While my H1 amendment(for the new position) is in progress if I receive my EAD cards then can I update my employer to switch to EAD for my employment. 2) After I receive my EAD how important the H1 amendment status. Thank you. Link to comment

pontevecchio
1. Yes 2. If you intend to use EAD, the H1 status is not material to you. Link to comment
