atewani
Hello Can anybody help with what are the estimated time for N-400 processing? I applied for my naturalization on 1st May 2017. fingerprinting done on 15 May. 4 months to be completed in a few days, no updates. I checked the processing time, all field offices show either Jan 2017 or Dec/Nov/Oct/Sept 2016. Is it that slow. Anybody got their interview scheduled any sooner than the times shown? thanks Ashok Link to comment
pontevecchio
It has been much slower for the last year or so. I would expect your interview by the year end. Link to comment
Alexander-2017
Now a days it takes several months; typically 6+ months but it can be longer if you live in a big city. I think many long-term green card holders applied for citizenship and that prolonged the waiting times at field offices. Link to comment
JoeF
Apparently, they changed computer systems. A buddy of mine was told by his examiner that this resulted in a lot of delays. Link to comment
Shurap1
Many USCIS field offices have been severely backlogged. My observation is that processing times report is published very conservatively and there are cases that are getting approved are even outside of the processing time window. With said that, waits are still pretty long in some places, about 8 to 10 months providing background check completes in time. Link to comment
