I-94 surrender while crossing border to Mexico

Hello experts,

I am planning on getting my H1b visa stamped in Matamoros, MX. While crossing the border to Mexico, do I have to surrender the I-94 section (bottom right corner) of the latest H1B approval document (I 797A) ? If so, who do I submit it to and what is the correct process for this ?

Not necessary.

not necessary. I did not give it when i traveled to matamoros.  The system will be automatically update when you go for the stamping / finger prints.
