Parents GC - I 797 approved while parent in USA

Hi,

I  filed I-130 for GC for my parents while they were outside USA. I chose Consular Processing and didnt file I 485. For an emergency they had to visit USA, and while here I have received I 797 approval. My questions are -

1) Can I convert the CP to AOS? if so, how do I do it and what are the remaining steps?

2) If I do nothing, what are the remaining steps? Does NVC send instructions to my parents address only?

Register yourself as the agent and all communications will also come to you maybe before them.

Have you got the letter with further instructions? Did you file or did your lawyer file?

Thank you, I filed. I didn't use a lawyer.  Neither my parents nor I got the instructions yet, I  just received the I 797. 

 

Should I contact NVC to convert from  CP to AOS , or wait for the instructions ?

I tried adding myself as an agent (https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx), but the website didnt recognize the case . Perhaps they didnt get the case yet.....

You will receive a letter from the NVC soon. You must have got a letter from USCIS and that the approval has been sent to the NVC for processing. Wait for instructions. Consular processing is better and if you have all necessary documents will not take too long for the Consular Interview.
