Travel on visitor via while I-130 is in process

Recommended Posts

I'm a US citizen. My parents' receipt date for I-130 is Dec 21, 2016 and are planning to travel to US in a month. Per USCIS website, they are processing case dates of Nov 15, 2016 as of May 31, 2016 (last update).

1. USCIS told me that they could travel in their valid visitor visa though I-130 is under process. However, I found a forum thread here which answered on the contrary. Is there any precautions/documents to be submitted during immigration check when they come to US?

2. How far out are GC interviews typically scheduled after I-130 application is approved with consular processing?

3. Once they arrive in US, do I only file I-485 to switch them to local processing (currently, it is under consular processing)?

4. My parents' marriage certificate is missing. In lieu of it, I had submitted letters from immediate relatives confirming the marriage. Will further document be necessary for my dad's application?
