Travel to India 2 months before F1 Visa expiry

Hello,

Currently am working on F1 OPT Stem. My F1 Visa expires on December 2017 and my OPT expires on June 2018. Please let me know the risk in travelling to India in October 2017.

Hi Saketh,

There are always some risks traveling outside the USA on F1-OPT.  Check murthy forum material.  F1 visa is for education purpose, OPT is an OPTIONAL practical training, not a mandatory training. So, at the port of entry the officer may say that you are done with education, and graduated so you are no longer a student on F1 status.
