H1B Visa stamping 2nd time in canada without getting stamped in Home country for at least once ?

Hi All,

I Came to US in 2007 and did masters and went to Vancouver for first time h1-b stamping in 2012. I recently got my extension approved and would like to go to canada for the 2nd time stamping. My questions is , do i have to go to home country or i can go to canada again ? . Because i heard an year ago that if you want to get stamped in canada you should get stamped in home country at least once.Is that true ?  Please let me know . Thanks a lot !!!

You can go to Canada again. No issues.

Stamping in home country is not required - I went to Ottawa for both my first and second stampings. Beware that consulates all over are issuing 221G. I was affected also, during my second stamping last month. Plan for an extended stay and choose your consulate wisely.
