Currently on H4 - Question on H1-B reinstantiation

While being on H1-B and working in U.S., my wife moved to H-4 visa (and got her H4-EAD consequently) in her 8th year, with around 7 months remaining on her H1-B visa. (Her green-card was under progress at the time she changed status, and labor was not cleared).

Firstly, Is it possible that she can move back to H1-B (because of extreme case of H4-EAD revocation or some other scenario) ? 

If yes, does it has to be the previous employer only (which leads to the follow up question if the previously filed green-card process can be resurrected from where it was left at) OR can she move to another employer too ?

If the GC process from the old employer has stopped, she can't go back to H1. She could only change back to H1 if she has an approved I-140 from the old employer.

The current employer could start her GC process (if it is a job that qualifies for it.)
