wrong validity date on H1B extension copy

Hi,I have a situation with wrong validity date mentioned in my H1B extension & amendment approval notice .Below are the details;

My H1B Visa stamp was valid till 06/10/2016

I-94 valid till 16/10/2016

H1B extension & amendment was filed on 07/05/2016.My company attorney had asked for start date from 06/30/2016 in the application filed.

Received approval on 03/07/2017.

Validity start date mentioned as from 03/06/2017 onwards.

generally the start date should have been from my I-94 or visa expiry date but what I received had a gap of 4 month.My attorney has raised a service request for correction to USICS yesterday.But I am not sure what happens next.

Am I out of status for these 4 months.I have not left US during this period and have not changed Job drawing paychecks during the same.Will I get a corrected/updated I-797.Is this a common issue.How am I affected.Request to please help me out with your suggesstions. Thanks.

following mm/dd/yyyy, I am confused which format are you using.

if your company has filed extension before I94 expiry date, then you are fine, even if thr is a gap.
