Change of Employer

Hello,

I have a new full time offer with X company and right now, working as a contractor through consultancy. My OPT EAD expires this week and OPT Ext. application has reached USCIS on jan 11th. So, it is SAFE to change employer when the case is in "received" status?

I think it may take more 1-2 months to process my case. And the employer I'm with, should apply for H1B visa as well.

Please advice :)
