Change of Status in SEVIS

Hello, 

I have a question regarding my Change of Status. 

I got my H1b approved on 14th August 2016. I was on F1 status and my SEVIS record still shows active on F1. Its not yet updated to H1B. My I-797 approval notice clearly says that COS has been approved. 

My college international officer says 'It may take some time to reflect the change to H1B in SEVIS system. Its usual.We need to wait.' 

Is it usual that it can take such time to reflect change in SEVIS ?

Would really appreciate any help on this one. Thanks in advance.
