Arun217
Hi, I am currently working in USA on H1B visa and my wife is on H4. My kid is a citizen of USA and she is 1 year old. My wife and daughter travelled to India on Jul 19th 2016 and for personal reasons their stay in india will have to be extended beyond 6 months (till end of Feb 2017). I would like to understand the process and the possibilities of getting an extension while staying in India. Thanks. Link to comment
shekar11#
Does your kid have an OCI card or an entry visa. If your kid has an OCI card she can stay for any length of time. If it is an entry visa you need to check the comments on the visa stamp. Link to comment
lovely
No issues, US citizenship will only be revoked if the citizen is not in the US for a continuous 18yrs. Link to comment

That is completely wrong! US citizenship will not be revoked for any stay abroad, no matter how long. It could be revoked if the person commits treason, does military service in some other country, or the like In general, " a person cannot lose U.S. nationality unless he or she voluntarily relinquishes that status." https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal-considerations/us-citizenship-laws-policies.html Link to comment
