Green card approved while outside USA

Hi,

My PD is Dec 2004 and it became current in Sep'2016 VISA bulletin. I have Advance Prole valid till July'2016.

I need to travel to India for couple of months.

Question is , if my GC is approved while i am outside, will i still be able to enter USA using Advance Prole

You would use the AP and you would then have to tell the officer at the POE that your GC got approved while abroad, and you would likely get deferred inspection.

This is a fairly common situation.
