Yes after my interview she said they dont see my petition in the system which means PIMS and she said it will take 3-4 business days.

Oct 26, 3pm: Email from usvisainfo website with tracking number and simultaneously from Canada post with tracking details

Oct 27, 10am: Picked up passport from Toronto postal station (interview ottawa but passport picked up in Toronto)

I have been through 221g two times now. first in 2013 in Mumbai India and second in Ottawa 2016.

Read my experience here. I am waiting for receiving my passport. Will update how many years visa i get.

Hi Everyone,

I had my visa interview on 17th at ottawa US consulate got a blue slip, Is anyone in the same boat? Anyone waiting for H1B 221g approval? Any idea how long it is taking now a days?

Consulate asked for passport on 31st Jan 2017 

Submitted passport on 1st feb 2017

passport returned through canda post on 8th feb 2017

I had same experience as Sukhdeep. Went for interview at Calgary consulate on Feb 8th, 2017; got 221(g) yellow ( color doesn't matter). I was asked exact same questions as anyone else and visa officer asked me to submit my resume , research and publications even though this is my third H1B and returned my passport and docs . Got approval exactly after 3 weeks , 16 business days and got passport in my hand in 5 business days exactly. I know this is tense situation but I haven't seen anybody getting his visa rejected on these bases .

8. Any other info would like to share: I and my husband had interview together. Visa office approved my husband's H1B but gave me 221g Blue for H4 visa. I did masters from USA. I am really worried now. Its been more than two weeks and have not heard anything yet.

Yes my PhD is in TAL. But funny part, i am in US for last 13 years but i never had any problem with visa stamping. This is first time they found that my degree is in TAL. I would suggest everyone who has TAL degree not to come to Ottawa Canada. I realized consular officer is young and very inexperienced.
