siddu2010
Hi all I had recieved my GC card last month, two days back my contract was terminated from client side. I had accepted an offer, actually I was not aware of rule that, we cann't switch employer's within 6 months. My question is 1) What is the potential risk, can the employer revoke GC? 2) We have no intensions for citizenship Thanks Pratibha Link to comment
redgreenbluee
please consult a lawyer. it is ideal to stay with your employer for at least 6 months after getting GC but this is not written in stone. since your contract was terminated, does your employer have a different job/project for you? maybe your employer cannot provide you with a new project and you can ask for a termination letter. the letter can help you in the future as proof that employer cannot provide employment because of lack of project if that's the case. Joe.F
Originally posted by omshiv: Congrats on your GC. There's no 6 month rule. Go ahead and change employer, there's no risk involved. Your emp cannot revoke your GC. Its all yours now. There is, however, a risk that USCIS may suspect fraud if the person changes jobs too early. So, USCIS may investigate and revoke the GC... http://www.murthy.com/485faq.html#13 Link to comment
