  1. Hi all, I need the opinion from the Murthy Forum experts here as I am really frustrated with my situation and am getting conflicting information. I am green card holder and was denied boarding on a flight from Bombay,IN to London Heathrow (final destination Dallas,TX) because I did not have a UK transit visa. I had the following documents with me at the airport: 1. Indian Passport 2. I-551 stamp on the passport from US embassy 3. Copy of my green card (My original green card was lost as I was pickpocketed) 4. Original Receipt of Application applied for Replacement of Green card 5. Copy of marraige license to US citizen wife The airport officials denied boarding saying I did not have transit visa for UK even though I had a green card and the rules on the UK Border agency say I dont need a Transit visa as I am a DATV national (per the website), Have confirmed flight ticket to final destination USA (layover was less than 4 hours at LHR ). Here is the link below: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas-immigration/transitthroughtheuk/visa-transit-airside/# I am getting conflicting info online on whether Transit visa is needed or not. As far as I am concerned, I did not but I need opinion from someone who really knows this for sure. I had specifically made appointment with the US embassy in Dallas before I travelled to get the I-551 stamp on passport to avoid any issues, and they had confirmed I should not face any issues on the way back to the USA via London. Please advise, any input will be much appreciated Thanks.
  2. Hi all, I received my green card in Feb 2010 and am ready to apply for I-751 to remove conditions on my green card, had a couple of questions: 1. Since I received my green card through marriage to a US citizen, do i need to apply for "Joint I-751" or I can apply it just for me? 2. I do not have my original green card as it was pickpocketed on an international trip. But I do have copies of it. I had applied for a replacement green card back in April but never received it (even after I had my biometrics taken in July). I will be sending a copy of my green card as is required for the application, do you think there will be any problem with the I-751 process? Thanks for your input.
  3. Hello everyone....Had a quick question... My wallet got pickpocketed on a recent overseas vacation and my conditional green card was also lost with it...I am due to apply for removal of conditional status in Nov 2011 (6 months away). I am not anticipating any foreign travel in the coming months and have a scanned copy of green card saved with me. Application for replacing a stolen green card will cost $450. My question is : Do i really need the green card for any reason (including when i apply to remove the conditional status in november)? I have a drivers license for ID purposes and can always produce a copy of my green card. Do you know if uscis requires applicants to submit old green card in original to remove the conditional status. Please advise. Many thanks.
