  1. I submitted my passport on Monday (you can do it in person between 11:30-12:30) and got it back on Wednesday evening directly from the consulate (which saved some time for me).
  2. I wasn't comfortable with mailing my passport in. I'm back here in Vancouver today to drop off my passport today (11:30-12 in person). I was told it was 2 days processing so I'm hoping to get back by Thursday. Will update once I go through this.
  3. When I got my passport back, they said that I could drop it off directly at the consulate. I'm going to send an email to the consulate asking if I drop it off directly with them or if I need to use the courier service.

    Visa Update @ Vancouver

Can you let us know when you pick up your passport.
  5. @shivanimma: I asked them that and they didn't recommend it because if they needed to interview you again (for any follow ups), you'd be stuck without a passport to travel...
  6. @Ather - Do post when you get your passport. I came back because it was taking too long to fix and have to come back again for the stamping.

    Automatic revalidation program

Looks like both Jask & I didn't have any issues. I think the CBP has been made aware of this issue so they're letting everyone get back. Hope it's ok for everyone and not case by case.

    Automatic revalidation program

I checked with the consulate - No interview but need 2 days to process.
  9. I would try to reschedule unless you're planning on staying until at least the week after. There's a significant backlog from the 8th that will need to processed before your application comes up.

    Automatic revalidation program

Picked up my passport from the consulate on Friday afternoon and they asked me to return with just the passport and I797. Give them 2 days to process and print the visa. They also told me that they didn't know when it would be solved. Drove from Vancouver to Seattle. Was a very easy inspection. Didn't even have to go in for secondary. It's back to work on Monday and maybe return once the dust has settled on this issue.

    Automatic revalidation program

OK - I'm going to take the risk that CBP will not deny my entry due to an exception they'll make for this system outage.

    Automatic revalidation program

This is what I need to figure before 1.30pm today. That will give me enough time to go to the consulate to pick up my passport.

    Automatic revalidation program

I sent a note to the Consulate asking if due to the glitch, there would be an exception to the "not applied for a visa" rule for AVR. Haven't heard anything back. Will keep this thread posted.
  15. Received this response today.. ********* The Department of State’s Bureau of Consular Affairs is currently experiencing technical problems with its visa systems. This issue is not specific to any particular country or visa category. We apologize for the inconvenience and are working urgently to correct the problem and restore full operability. Currently, we are unable to print most immigrant and nonimmigrant visas approved after June 8, 2015. In addition, U.S. embassies and consulates are unable to process new applications submitted on or after June 9, 2015. Individuals with visa interview appointments scheduled for June 14-24, 2015, should reschedule their appointments if they submitted a DS-160 online application after June 9, 2015. Appointments can be rescheduled by signing into the existing appointment account and selecting the “reschedule” link or by calling the call center 778 807 9660. Individuals who submitted their DS-160 online applications prior to June 9, 2015, should plan to attend their scheduled visa interview appointments. Those with urgent travel should follow the instructions for an expedited emergency appointment found on the website. If you have already attended your visa appointment or submitted your documents by mail, and wish to collect your passport without the visa you may do so any business day between 2:00pm – 3:00pm. Your visa application is valid for one year from the date of interview. You may return your passport to the Consulate to receive the visa once the technical issue is resolved. Please monitor the information at https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-CA/niv. Thank you, U.S. Consulate General Vancouver, Canada OP2
