  1. Hello Guys, Please post here if you are visiting Jamaica b/w 20 Jan-6 Feb, 2015 : It's a clumsy 2 weeks process in a best case scenario and hence will be more beneficial to split-up living costs. Thanks ......!
  2. Hello Guys, Please share/post the standard list of questions that the consulate EMAILS to the CLIENT to verify an h1b stamping candidate after a candidate has been issued a 221G Thank you for all your support and help !
  3. Hello Guys, I am trying to confirm with the Jamaican consulate that i am all good to come in for appointment in jan 2015 since i paid fee before 31 oct, 2014 & never received any cancellation email....but so far have NOT heard any replies from consulate, they say 5 business days is what they will take but no responses despite 10 business days gone by. Phone calling is not an option for NON-Immigrants. What other email addresses other than kingstonniv@state.gov have you tried to get a response? Thanks !

Jamaica: NOT replying to EMAIL: Solutions?

Don't know man, its weird, they SHOULD reply as we have paid a fee and atleast this level of professionalism can be expected.
  5. Hey Pratibp, i am getting an error while updating, if possible on your end, plz do it & will get in touch..thanks !

Jamaica: NOT replying to EMAIL: Solutions?

Despite repeated emails, still no response...experts kindly advise !
  7. Also, since my PO is barely valid for another 60 something days, it is meaningless to show that at the consulate.
  8. Pingpong: I don't have any vendor: its my employer ---> Client : So basically, EC model. I received email from Client Director replying back that as per their HR policy they cant give me employment verification letter and i should get it from my employer. Consulate often approaches Clients directly and previously people have posted those standard list of 8 questions is what i am looking for...!
  9. Are you working in EVC model or EC? Did she ASK you about VENDOR LETTER? Is this your 1st h1b stamping? Is your degree same as in your current field of work?

    221g- related question

  11. Do you mean to say "Book a RETURN flight for 2 weeks ahead in future date" on the same day you are flying in to Jamaica through expedia and cancel after arrival?

  14. Guys, Does VO also checks for the records of $ amount mentioned in your old LCA of 2013 with the last employer to the W2 for the last year i.e. 2013? Or do they only care about current employer's LCA and your salary on paychecks for current year? Please advice, if someone took 3 months indian vacation, they surely cannot meet the per year LCA requirement and do VO have that much time to drill down the pro-rated amount based on the period they stayed in US for last year with the old employer? Thanks for your help...
  15. Enough of moral preaching rahul412, what has happened in the past has happened and CANNOT be changed now...
  16. Experts, please share your advice on this situation: 1. Raghu has an LCA showing "Rate of Pay" mentioned in section F as $90,000 on LCA [From : $90,000 to N/A] per year 2. Raghu has an LCA showing "Prevailing Wage" as $65,000 on LCA 3. Raghu receives a W2 salary of $66,000. QUESTION: Has RAGHU or its employer has violated h1b because his W2 amount of $66,000 is LESS than "Rate of Pay" mentioned under section F in LCA of $90,000 ? or Is RAGHU and his employer OK because Raghu W2 of $66,000 is GREATER than Prevailing Wage of $65,000 for that year?
  17. Hello Guys, My friends W2 (2013) was LESS than LCA by around 11k and i know its an issue. He moved to a different employer in 2014 and now payments are according to the LCA. Since its time to get stamped next month, the risk is VO digging up the old 2013 W2 and trying to compare it with ??? My friend also went to vacation outside US for 2.5 months but even after pro-ration of that since outside USA h1b time is not counted, he is falling short by 11k on W2. How much of 2013 mess will be digged up and anyone else here who have faced similar situation, kindly advise? Answers such as "VO can ask for anything/anytime" are of no use, if YOU HAVE faced such situations or know someone who has will help..thanks !
  18. & what do you think the complaint will bring? The remaining salary? Even if yes, it was all 2013 and now with 2015 coming up, how can that fix what was broken? Routing me to DOL & further processing/halts w/o any feasible solution isn't whats going to help. I am sure i am not the only one who has gone through this unfortunate thing and hence seeking advice from others who managed to get out of it.

Jamaica Visa Stamping experience Dec 1st

Thanks Ashok, i believe so as well, just getting nervous and have emailed consulate for confirmation, its sad that they don't respond however their automated email vouches promises of replying within 5 days but so far i had no luck in 3 previous attempts, and also before anyone wastes any more time in calling the embassy, emailing is the only option for non-immigrants as told to me when i called.
  20. Hello Guys, I have to make a final call b/w Vanc & Jamaica to get my 2nd h1b stamping done. I am in EC model and jumped back to my same employer in 2014 with whom i got my 1st stamp from Ottawa in 2012. Questions: 1. PP delivery times @Jamaica after approval = 2 weeks 2. PP delivery times @Vancouver after approval = 1 week 3. 221G processing time @Jamaica = 3-5 weeks 4. 221G processing time @Vancouver = 2 weeks ? Please help 5. Client Letter @Jamaica = depends on luck if they ask for this or not? 6. Client Letter @Vancouver = is it asked for every EC model guy there? 7. Why did you change your employer? The answers such as "Better opportunity and benefits" are not satisfying the VO's ==> Any other alternatives? Please share your experiences/thoughts/observations. For people vouching for "go to Home Country Lovers", please excuse.
  21. Is there a god-damn way out of this 2013 devil that still haunts? Based on discussions here, some are vouching that it can be an issue even in future during an h1b transfer ;( ? (not alone the stamp).
  22. Got an RFE via PP: Uscis wants my w2 and w3 for last 2 years in order to see that i was maintaining h1b status, i have w2 available (BUT DONT HAVE w3) W3: Employer TAX SPECIFIC DOCUMENT: For people who don't know this (A W-3 Form is a transmittal form which is sent to the Social Security Administration (SSA) showing total earnings, Social Security wages, Medicare wages and withholding for all employees for the previous year) Issue: I had 2 different employers in last 2 years and they are NOT giving W3. What's the way out ? HOw to get w3 from old employers ? Is it end of the american dream ? Please advice.
  23. There's no way out, i obtained approval using W2 only. Greedy old employer abused when asked for w3
  24. Guys, i am going for my 2nd h1b stamping, this time in Jamaica, can anyone here please advice on how to make sure that our PIMS verification is done. This will save us the hassle of being stuck in there for weeks. I moved to my new employer 9 months ago and need to make sure. Please advice.
  25. Guys, Sep 2014: I booked my 1st Jamaican Consulate appointment for h1b renewal stamping in Sep 2014 for a date in Nov 2014. Oct 2014: We saw an update online from Jamaican Consulate that 3rd country nationals after 31st Oct, 2014 cannot apply and go there. Nov 2014: Due to health issues, i cancelled my Nov appointment and did not go Nov 2014: I was able to successfully reschedule my appointment to Jan 2015 Question: Please note that throughout this whole thing, i NEVER received an appointment cancellation email from Jamaican Consulate. I am assuming that based on the info provided here, i can GO to jamaica to get my 2nd h1b stamping done. Note: i spoke with a person from this forum who also booked before 31st Oct, 2014 and went to get stamped on Nov 10,2014 and never received a cancellation email from jamaica. So in my case too, i assume that even though i did not get a cancellation email from jamaica and i re-scheduled by myself, since i paid fee before Oct 31,2014, i can go. PS: Sorry to all who might feel that there's no need for me to post all this, but its a cumbersome and highly expensive process, so want to make sure. "For go to home country lovers": please excuse...thank you
