  1. Hi All, I have been following this forum from last few months and had successful visa stamping on 8th Nov. Thanks to this forums. so here is my experienece: I had my OFC on 6th nov in Mumbai. The process was as usual posted in other forums. Interview was on 8th Nov in Chennai. I reached consulate at 7.45 a.m. and my interview was at 8.30. my token number was called at 9. Plesantaries exchanged. VO: who is you client? Ans:XXXXXX then he asked my for petition letter to US consulate and petition copy. VO: so you have end client? Ans:XXXXXX as per petition letter. VO:what do you do for client? Ans: I started answering then he stopped me and asked my annual salary. he scanned something in computer and in my petition letter..after a minute, he said. everything looks ok. I am issuing your visa. you will get your passport in a week. and that was it. I would suggest, just go through all the documents you have carefully. question will be related to it. Be calm and confident. all the best to you all. Thank you.

    H1B Dates in Mumbai

@whiteknight Yes I cancelled it for 3rd time, I was ready to pay the fee again but then saw that receipt was still valid and I could rescedule one more time. I am not sure on which grounds/rules Call center guys are giving this kind of information, but we should not rely completely on the information which they are giving.

    H1B Dates in Mumbai

Thank you soooo very much Viral. Finally I got the date of 8th nov for visa. As I was on my 3rd attempt of rescheduling appointment, call center guys told me that my receipt will get deactivated if I try to reschedule one more time. Thats the reason I was very scared to even cancel my existing appointment. as even if I pay fee again, adding payee, account updates would have taken nothing less than 48 hours and by that time 8th 9th dates would have been booked. But I just took a risk and cancelled my appointment. and luckily my receipt was still valid, and I was able to reschedule new appointment. So statement made my call center guys was not right about limitations of resceduling appointment. or maybe system is not updated as per their rules. But still I would suggest you all to be very careful for number resceduling attempts. and all the very best to you all and hope you get your expected dates.

    H1B Dates in Mumbai

@Viral, I couldnt find any link to add you as a friend. You can add me as a friend instead. or share you email address at least if you dont mind. I am just stucked in very tricky situation here. When booked my interview slot earlier, by mistake it happened twice from me. As when I clickec on continue it confirmed my appointment at 1st place. which i dont wanted then I cancelled it and booked 20th. since this process happened twice from me. Now I cant recschedule my appointment anymore. Call center people says that, my receipt will be deactivated if I try to cancel it once more. and I have to pay the fee again. which I am ready to do as I really want to dates b/w 7-9 nov. but now they are saying that I have to cancel my existing appointment again, those changes will take some time to get effective in my account and then again once my receipt number column is clear, I pay the fee again and schedule appointment. this whole process is gonna take more than 24-48 hours. and I can loose this dates within this time span. That is why I wanted some immidiate contact who have access to those dates and can help me with available dates. This process is really annoying, I am going on some family emergency. and have to struggle through all this, so that I can fit my interview date within my travel plan. Someone who has not scheduled their appointment yet can really help me in this.

New H1 Stamping Process in India

@Vasu---Hi, I was not able to download axis/citibank visa fee collection slip. I have my login created. It throwed me an error "not able to load visualforce page". when I contacted helpline, they said, that I have to put my DS-160 confimation number which we need while filliing profile information. which means we cant even see the visa fee payment slip, if we havent submitted ds-160 yet. Maybe you got payment fee form, as you may have done it before 26th. Can you please share how you managed to get to payment form withour entering ds-160 confirmation number? as on Profile page it asks for DS-160 confirmation number which is mandetory field.

    DS-160, Temporary Work Visa Info-Contractors

Hi, I am also filling out DS-160 form and planning to go for stamping to India. But I never got this question "'Where do you intend to work" in my Ds-160. I have read few posts earlier also related to this question. But never found this in my form. Am I filling wrong application?
  15. Hi, I am in similar situation. I had my earlier visa interviews (L1,H4) from Mumbai consulate. I am planning to go to Chennai for visa interview in Nov and this will be my first h1b. Can I go to Mumbai OFC for fingerprinting and then to chennai consulate for interview?

7 of us approved on September 10th (All EVC)

Congrats to you all..please share the experiences and consulate you visited.
  17. Hi, I am filling out DS-160 form for my h1b visa stamping, and I confused over this question- Have you ever been issued a U.S. Visa? Here is my case: I had my L1b visa stamped on passport when I was working in India with my previous employer. But I never travelled to US on that Visa. Later I resigned from company, and as a part of company exit policies, visa had been cancelled (Cancelled without prejudice is written on my visa). After that I came to USA on H4B visa and after coming here I got my change of status to H1b. Now since I am planning India trip and stamping, I am filling out ds-160. So for the above question in ds-160, I have to fill YES. But when it asks for visa details, shall I mention all my visa H1, h4 and L1? (h1 not stamped yet, h4 stamped, L1-stamped cancelled) or just H4 and L1? Thanks in advance.

H4 to H1 stamping in Canada

Hey Anu, I came across your post on Murthy. I am in same boat as yours. Came to US on H4 then COS to H1. I don’t have US degree. Now planning to go to Canada, but hearing lot of things about first time stamping in Canada. Can you reply me if you were able to do your stamping in Canada? or you went to home country? Thanks in advance.
  23. Hi, I came to US on H4 in June 2010, got my change of status approved to H1 in Feb 2011 and started working from then. I work in EC model. Now, I am planning a trip to India, and have to get my visa stamped. This is my first H1, can I do visa stamping in Canada? Which location will be safer for my stamping, Canada or India? I have all the letters with me. Thanks in advance.

First time H1 stamping in canada?

Thanks for reply. @ rahul412, I don’t have US degree. But in my case, I had L1 visa stamped in India from my Indian company. Though I never travelled to US on L1 visa and when I resigned form same employer my L1 got cancelled. After that I had my H4 visa stamped in India, on which I came to US. From what I heard, first time stamping should always be from home country. So in my case, this will be my 3rd stamping considering earlier two. Based on it can I have h1 stamping in Canada? Or first stamping H1B stamping should always be in home country? I am reading lot of positive Canada experiences, so my major focus is on Canada. Please let me know if you/anyone has any idea of whole situation. Thanks in advance.
