Hi, I am currently on H1B sponsored by my University last year in May 2020 and am still due for stamping. I am currently interviewing for residency and all the programs have mentioned that they only sponsor J1. Can you please suggest the best way to approach this? 1. Will I still need my H1b stamping in case I match to J1 residency? 2. H1b to J1 conversion - Is it better to go to India and get the process done or apply for a change of status from here?

Hi, I am currently working for a non-profit organization on my STEM OPT extension which expires on 14 May 2020. My organization has filed for a cap-exempt H1B Visa a few days ago. Given the current delay in the processing times, can I continue to work in my current position after the confirmation of the receipt of the application by USCIS? Thank you for your time. Praneeth
