H4 filing I485: Application Type?
hello_hello_world replied to hello_hello_world's topic in AOS & CP : General
For those of you, I have selected "Other" for my wife and typed "MY SPOUSE APPLIED FOR ADJ OF STATUS". Let's see how that's gonna work out. I will write here when I hear the response from USCIS. -
Hi everyone, I am on H1B now. My wife is on H4. I140 is approved for me and I have the receipt number for it. I am now filing I485 for myself. If I understand correctly, I will also fill another I485 for my wife as a derivative applicant with its own fee and everything. And for the Application Type part of the document, should I select: The same as me which is Employment-based Alien Worker I140? Other and write Spouse of I-140 beneficiary in the field? Other and write H4? Can someone please confirm that for me? Thanks,

Hey everyone. I got the final approval from USCIS. Just wanted to let you know. This forum helped me a lot for not stressing out and keeping the timeline. I hope you all get your approvals soon. Now will start another process in my life: H1B. So here is the final entry to my timeline: December 9, 2018: I received USCIS approval.
-
Here is my full timeline: December 11, 2017: I-612 received by USCIS September 4, 2018: RFE received by me September 6, 2018: RFE response and additional documents received by USCIS October 25, 2018: I-612 and I-613 received by DoS (sent by USCIS) November 9, 2018: Favorable recommendation issued by DoS November 20, 2018: I received a copy of DoS recommendation Status: waiting for final USCIS decision (hopefully)
-
Mine didn't appear on USCIS also. They sent RFE, got my response back, asked DoS for second opinion, received DoS recommendation. But their webpage still shows no update. I assume they don't update frequently.

Here is a new item in my status: November 20, 2018: I received a copy of DoS recommendation by mail. I attached the document in case it helps.

I think I forgot to check the status from DoS page also and just focused on USCIS page. Anyway, I got a favorable recommendation from DoS. Here is the additional timeline: October 25, 2018: I-612 and I-613 received by DoS November 9, 2018: Favorable recommendation by DoS I guess we still need to wait for USCIS final recommendation but it is most likely "favorable" as well after DoS. I hope you all get yours soon.

Your USCIS part went pretty smooth. Good luck.

This is the date on the receipt notice. 1 month is a long time but it looks like they are not handling anything within the expected time limits. So you may still receive it soon. But here is an information from the UCSIS webpage based on my receipt number. I send around the beginning of December 2017 and here is their warning. If you do not receive your receipt notice by January 10, 2018, please call the USCIS Contact Center at 1-800-375-5283.

It is probably the call center number. It is not a direct line and I had to fight automated voices to find a person to talk to. But here it is: 1-800-375-5283

hello_hello_world started following J1 fear of persecution waiver

Hi all, If it will be any help to someone, here is my timeline and status. I applied on persecution basis. December 11, 2017: I-612 received by USCIS September 4, 2018: RFE received by me September 6, 2018: RFE and documents received by USCIS I called yesterday because, on the RFE, it says "call us if you don't hear back in 60 days" and they said it is still processing. I also created an account on USCIS page using my receipt number but they even didn't update the page to reflect that they requested an RFE. The lady on the phone told that updating the USCIS page may be late sometimes.
