  1. Hello, I'm an Indian national who received his Green Card & is eligible for citizenship. I'm in the process of filling out the N400 form for citizenship, and would like to change my name (shorten it) as indicated in the form However, once the US citizenship has been approved I plan on filing for OCI card. Would the OCI card reflect the revised name on the US passport or would it be the old name from the Indian passport? I'm curious to know as I own property in India & I'm not sure if it would create legal complications if the name on US passport does not match my old name on property documents. Please advice.
  2. Hello all, I am currently on F1 for my MBA program. I recently got married to my fiance who happens to be a US citizen and received my Marriage Certificate. My immigration attorney plans on filing the paper work this week. I have to report to my job in June. The position does not sponsor for H1Bs or any other forms of visa. I also need to travel out of the country in May.Is this sufficent time to get my EAD and advanced parole. Thank you for reading.
  3. Hello all, Sorry about making the title so complciated but heres my case..I am an Indian citizen, I have a masters in engineering from the US, I graduated in 2005 and I have been on H1b since then. I intend to go to full time school this year for my MBA leaving my current engineering job, I had to leave the country temporarily for 4months, upon expiry of my first 6 year H1B term, and got back only after labor and I140 was approved and I am running on a H1b extension for 3 years. I intend to transfer to F1 in Aug 2013 and graduate in Aug 2015. My question is would I qualify for a H1B right away post graduation in 2015 or would I have to leave the country for a year?
  4. I have mine on the 13th in Toronto, thanks Please feel free to PM me.
  5. Hello all, I am an Indian national but I have been working in Canada (at the Canadian branch of the US company) for a couple of months upon expiration of my 6 years H1B visa in the US. My company filed for my i140 and that made me eligible for a 3 year H1B extension. A 3 year extension was granted in the form of I797. I am now planning to block a date at the US embassy, stamp my visa and return to the US. My attorney directed me to fill out the DS160 for the Non Immigrant Visa category. I am little confused about how my interview questions will be different. I am concerned that I have shown an intention to immigrate and the H1B is non immigrant visa category for temp workers. What kind of questions can I anticipate? your thoughts are appreciated..Thanks!!
  6. I am currently working in Canada upon expiration of my 6 years on H1B. My I140 just got approved and my attorneys are working on filing the 3 year H1B extension. From what I understand I will have to go to the US embassy in Canada for my passport stamping. I understand dates are hard to come by and need to be booked in advance for the H1b Stamping. Can I block the date in advance? and what documents would I need Would I have to fill out a DS 160? Any help is appreciated http://usvisa-info.c...efore_you_apply thanks

    AUG 2011 PERM Filing

I woke up this morning to check the iCert website. Does this mean as of Oct 11th all July applications have been looked at? PERM Processing Times (as of 10/11/2011) Processing Queue Priority Dates Month Year Analyst Reviews July 2011 Audits Feb 2011 Reconsideration Requests to the CO June 2009 Gov't Error Reconsiderations Current OFLC continues its effort to reduce the Permanent Labor Certification Program's pending caseload as part of our larger Departmental commitment to customer service. The dates posted on iCERT above reflect the month and year in which cases were filed that are now being adjudicated at the Atlanta National Processing Center. For various reasons, we may be completing the processing of applications filed prior to the month posted on iCERT. If your application was filed more than 3 months prior to the month posted, you may contact our Helpdesk for a status on the application at plc.atlanta@dol.gov.

    AUG 2011 PERM Filing

Its all speculation at this point but see how the time increased from a couple of weeks during Feb to 2-3 months in June July. It would be nice if the trend reverses and goes back to a couple of weeks but that happening is unlikely.

Check out the ICERT portal http://icert.doleta.gov/ it states that as of (as of 08/22/2011) under PERM processing times May 2011 is being processed. That means 3-4 month processing time. Please correct me if I am wrong thanks
