    H1 transfer and Job change

@nareshnnk - Your situation is same as mine, had been 4 months after interview, background, H1 filing etc. I decided to go ahead on receipt. But, still have about a couple of weeks time to join. I checked with attorney, and they say even if H1 is denied - there is 60 days grace period to file another petition. That gives some relief, but mostly unlikely for a big company H1 to be denied - but not impossible. Check with your employer on their immigration policies.
  3. About 2 months or a bit more. Some people even got it in 21 days. It depends on your case and the service center processing your case.
  4. Thank you for the update.
  5. @Pran13 - What happened to your case? I hear from my immigration attorney that 60 days grace period also applies to transfer denials. It is not just for layoffs. As soon as the transfer is denied, you will be pulled off your employer's pay roll and hence would have lost job. Even when an employee quits his job voluntarily, the 60 day grace period applies. The following link talks about voluntarily quitting job. https://www.murthy.com/2017/03/06/grace-period-nonimmigrant-workers-following-loss-of-employment/

H1B Transfer and Travel in December 2017

Most likely premium processing might resume in a month or two. Joining on receipt has risks. However, if your employer is a big company, you can take a leap of faith and join them on receipt. Normal processing should complete before December if you file now. There is no guarantee of processing SLA unless it is premium processing.

H1B COS Visa Stamping - Intended Arrival

Shouldn't be an issue AFAIK. They won't ask you for itinerary for H1 visas. For example, a lot of people make travel plans. However, some visas go into admin processing and take a long time to get processed. In such cases, you can never plan your travel unless you get your passport back. So, the consular officers understand that plans change. Don't worry.
  8. I don't think you would be eligible unless you work for a non-profit org or a cap exempt institution. https://www.uscis.gov/news/uscis-resume-h-1b-premium-processing-certain-cap-exempt-petitions
  9. Hi, I need suggestion from you guys on my situation. - My am a FTE with a 500 B$ large tech company. My I-94 expires in 08/2019 and so is my visa stamp. I have an approved I-140 with my current employer. I have a masters degree from outside USA and 11 years of work experience in software development. No status issues so far, never changed employer. - Accepted a job offer from a 200 B$ large tech company. Full time employment. Same area as previous employer. Their immigration team is doing H1 transfer and extension work and will be filing soon. Most likely it will be filed with California service center. My concern is if I should switch job on transfer receipt. I am not sure if I have to take the risk. 1. What are the chances of transfer petition getting denied? Should I try to convince them to wait until petition is approved? 2. If the transfer petition is denied, what options do I have? Please advise. Thank you and have a nice day.

H1B expiring - Can I work remote from India.

You can check with your employer. I heard some employers allow working remotely. Some strictly enforce policy that prevents an employee on US payroll to work outside US.

Drop Box eligibility and process time

Yes, you are eligible for drop box unless you have annotation "CLEARANCE RECEIVED" on your current visa. You can check the eligibility conditions on ustraveldocs portal. Have an extra buffer time when you apply for visa. You never know if you would be called for an interview after submitting documents via drop box. Apply well in advance. All the best.
  12. @vizagal - Did you join your new employer on receipt?
  13. @quest2010 - Was your petition approved by the time you joined the company? Or did you take a chance?

H1 extension applied in Nov 2016

@Ibrahim_y23 Any updates? Which service center was your case filed with?
