    H1B to F1 using I-539

Thanks for your reply! I think you are referring to the Last action rule. But I will be leaving my employment before I start school. Assuming my extension is not approved by that time, my company will cancel my extension. So that should not be a problem..right?

    H1B to F1 using I-539

Hello, I have received an admit for a P.hD. I am currently on H1B visa which expires on 03Aug2017. My company had already filed for H1B extension which is under review. I plan to submit form I-539 to USCIS for changes of status from H1B to F1. Will there be a conflict since USCIS will have both my applications H1B extension and change of status (H1B to F1)? The change of status processing time is quite long. What happens if my change of status gets approved after August (intended start of the program)? Will I be out of status? Please let me know! Thanks in advance!

  5. Hello Everyone, I had a question regarding the H1B validity dates. My H1B visa is valid till Oct2017 but the stamp on my passport is expires in March2017. I plan to visit India in Jan2017 and comeback in Feb2017. Since my visa stamp expires in a month (March2017) of my intended arrival day in the US, will there be in any issue at the port of entry? Do I need to get my visa stamped again while in India or do I need to avail the dropbox option? It would be great if someone can please let me know! Thanks so much in advance!
