    H1-B Stamping

You can go to either Canada or India as long as you have good supporting documentation. Your visa should be approved.

You can go to Canada this time, but the next time its better to visit home country.

    Salary more than LCA

The amount in the LCA is the minimum pay which you must get paid for your services. There is nothing wrong if your salary amount is > LCA as long as there is no big difference. If asked you can say that you were given a hike or a bonus.

    221g in Canada

Answer to your first question: Yes, the consulate will email you if the want to check your documents, then you need to email the documents when issued a 221g. Answer to your second question: This depends on which consulate you are visiting in Canada, I know of cases where people got 221g in Ottawa. They stayed there for couple of weeks and were in touch with the consulate. Once their case was cleared and visa was stamped, they returned.

  9. Hi, Wanted to share my visa interview experience at Ottawa on Dec 16th. I would like to thank for all the support I received from this forum. My Interview was at 9 am, I was at the embassy at 8:40. After all the security checks, My passport, DS 160 and I-797 was collected. These documents were next put in a yellow colored pamphlet and I was given a token number. Finally, after a few nervous moments my token number was called. me: Good morning. vo: Good morning. vo: So who do you work for? me: I work for xyz company. vo: what do you do for them? me: I work as a developer I work for a reputed client, so the VO next asked me a company specific question to which I gave an appropriate answer. vo: alright, your visa has been approved and he took my passport, DS 160. He gave me a paper with the website to keep a track of the status of the passport me: thank you. My interview took 15-20 secs, no documents were asked but the officer was reading and typing all throughout our conversation. I got the passport two days later on the 18th. My advice: Prepare your documentation well, give honest answers but keep it short and articulate. Good luck to everyone. Follow the checklist provided in this forum, it's a comprehensive list. Also if you are going for F1 to H1b, please prepare to answer questions about your master's degree.
  10. Hi, During 2012, I worked from Jan to June for Client "A" in California. From July to end of the year I worked for a client B In Virginia. But My employer A moved from one location to another in March 2012 and he maintained same name but with different federal ID, lets call this as employer B. The employer A generated W2 with CA state tax from Jan to March. From march to July, until my project ended with client A, the employer B ran another W2 form with CA state tax. After moving to VA, the employer B generated another W2 form with VA state tax. So I have 3 W2 forms for 2012. If the VO asks me why three forms, what should I answer???.

    Visa interview doubt.

Hi, I was with my ex-employer when I was working for Client "A" up to May 2013. Later on the client "A" offered me full-time so I took the offer in May 2013. So if the visa officer asks me "Since when are you working for your employer", my answer should be May 2013, right ??

    DS 160 question

In my case, My LCA says "developer" and also my Employer letter has "developer" role. So In my DS 160, should i mention my role as "developer" or "senior developer"?. When I asked my attorney I was told this will not Impact my Visa approval as my duties and responsibilities have not changed.
