    H1 Approved during CPT

so, did u start working on CPT from day 1? If u did, then you are in real trouble. If it was a legitimate CPT and you have pay-slips for the period, which worked for.. I think you should be good.

Filing for H1B after OPT Stem Expires.

You are not eligible for CAP-GAP. It is only for people, whose OPT expires after april 1st. You should be on valid F1 visa, when you apply H1b. You can exit out of country and re enter with h1b visa stamp.. provided you get it next year..
  3. I was working for a EVC model last year.. and the client was not giving out client letters to contractors... Burnt my hands with EVC model.. never going back to EVC, until i get my GC
  4. So what are you saying... ? That I am a liar?.. I am just trying to help someone with my information, which I went through this year...
  5. What is the analogy? Why are you playing a sentiment card in here?
  6. Buddy, I was in your shoes last year. My h1b didn't come through and I was there lamenting at people, who applied with different employers to increase their chances.... I thought that I was doing the right thing, by sticking to one employer... but that costed like 8 months of my career in doldrums... I enrolled back in a university near my home, but never took CPT. I was able to afford it, since my husband is there to support me... My intention to enroll in a second master's were completely different.. I wanted to see.. where this would take me.. There was no guarentee that my h1b this year would be picked up.. I wanted to keep an option open ( like getting an internship after 2nd semester completes... which can ultimately result in h1b )..... but I started looking out for jobs and attending interviews since January of 2014, while i was studying full time... My whole aim was to get a good employer and try my luck this year... So, do the best thing possible.. CPT from day 1 is very dangerous.... it can kill your career in US. I know many universities support it.. But they will not be helpful, when there will be a query on your case years later. It can happen.. Many people are getting queries, in their second extension of H1B or even during GC.... So My advise would be to be careful.. Dont enroll in CPT from day one ( I know it seems very difficult.. considering financially) ... but you dont want something to come in between your dream of working in US.. years later to come....
  7. Where did i say that I paid for my h1b filing? Deviant post... I am in US on the basis of my talent.. not some crappy money based H1B Filings...
  8. That is my wish, if i want to work for an employer or not.... Employment at all times is at will from both parties... that is the rule , atleast in the state where I live...
  9. I have not misused anything. I honestly studied for day and night and attended interviews.. so that a good employer will apply H1b for me.. Luckily for me...I got two of them, who were interested in my talent.. SInce they wanted to hire me, they applied for H1B. I didn't do anything except doing interviews, I didnt sign any bond ( those bonds are only for shady consultancies, not good employers ) I am just looking out for my future....
  10. JOEF I agree that I used a wrong word in this scenario, The actual term should be packet was sent back, because it was not picked in the lottery.... But just becuase my terminology is not right.. doesn't make me liar... Whatever you think or say.. All I am telling is truth... I just want people to know that... Multiple filings does increase the lottery chances in H1B. I am not trying anything.. Why would you say that? What basis you have to say that I am a liar?
  11. JOEF, it does actually: Continue to read on I have solid proof this time. This year, two employers applied h1b for me.. Only one got picked up in the lottery, It is approved as well.... And my other employer has received a rejection mail, with all my paper work back. He just informed me. Please stop misleading people time and again... Just because you have more than 5000 posts on the forum, doesn't make you an expert. Someone can always know better than self.

    Question for CPT

Just because people from some universities are abusing CPT doesn't mean, everyone who is posting on this forum is doing so.. so Stop advising on this criteria. When I was doing my master's , I got an internship and that allowed me to work fulltime. Now, my university was in Illinois, but I was able to work in New Jersy. My school granted me Full time CPT, since my thesis advisor, felt that it would help my course of work and research. My school was University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign. I was doing that internship for over 7 months and then went back to school FT to complete my course work. You can work less than 11 months 29 days on CPT to not make your OPT void. Please consult someone who has knowledge and stop listening to people on this forum who have more than 5000 posts. Just because they have knowledge in some areas, don't make them experts in all subject area's of immigration.
