@smuppala02: Re-entry was a simple process. You can use the provided clearance email from the consulate as the reason for travel back to Canada. I have multiple year multiple entry visa. @cukegene: Thank you for the update, I look forward to dropping off the passport tomorrow. Do you use the main line/operator line or do you have another number/switchboard option?

@cukegene, I will look to submit the passport on Tue Dec 31. However not sure if the consulate will be opening the personnel at the gate mentioned that they won't be open till Jan 2nd which is different from what the website states. I will visit the consulate on Tue to see if they are open and will accept the passport.

Appointment Date: Nov 18th - Received Green & Yellow 221g forms Submitted docs via email on Nov 18th Received clearance email: Dec 17th - Asking to submit passport within 14 days on Tue or Thur between 1-2:30p Being outside Canada I traveled back to Canada to submit passport on Dec 24th (Tuesday) Upon visiting the consulate I was informed that they are closed and need to submit the passport on Jan 2nd (Thur). I notice on the website mention on closure due to weather/holidays on Dec 24th but re-open on Dec 27th. Is anyone else faced with similar delays till Jan 2nd?

@amrinder86: There is a batch # written on the 221g form along with day of year. I did receive a confirmation email the next day that my documents were received and I will be contacted if further information is required or once update is available. @Sai96: My interview was on Nov 18th and was informed typical processing is 2 weeks but could be as long as 8 weeks. It is over 2 weeks now and I received confirmation that my emailed documents were received however there might be delays due to the thanksgiving break. I will post once I have an update.

@days01 I have a similar situation and was requested to submit soft copy of resume via email even though a hard copy was reviewed during the interview. In the green form the line item " Details concerning the exact nature of your field of study/research...." was also checked. My appointment was on Nov 18 and I submitted all documents via email the same day in the evening. I am waiting for email to submit passport.

Does the email to submit passport specify specific day & time window during which the passport needs to be dropped off at the consulate?

@interaction, @naga chandra @others Once you receive an email following AP is there a timeline provided in which you need to turn in your passport to the consulate? I am debating to travel away a little and want to be careful in case there is a very small window to submit the passport for exchange only 24-48hrs etc. In addition does the email specify specific day or time when the passport needs to be dropped off or can one do it anytime during the consulate's business hrs?

Appointment date: 11/18/13 I have come to Canada from the USA previously to get H1B stamped in Ottawa 2009 successfully. This appointment was for visa stamping for the third time with I-140 approved under EB2. The conversation went something like this VO: What company do you work for? immitraveler: XXX company VO: What do you do? immitraveler: Electrical engineer....blah blah blah >> Started typing the verbal information spoken VO: Can you provide your resume? immitraveler: Provided the hard copy of the resume VO starts typing a lot In short seems like some keywords of importance were getting entered/searched in the system. VO: Please submit a copy of your resume in MS Word format via email VO: Hands Yellow 221g marked Administrative Processing & Green 221g with writing in Pen to submit Word format of resume via email 11/18/2013 evening: sent email to the consulate as per VO had hand written the email on the 221g asking for the .doc format of the resume. 11/18/2013 evening: instant email back from email system thanking for allowing them to serve us...etc (seems auto generated) 11/19/2013 noon: 2nd email in RE: thanking submission of the documents required as per the 221g and mentioned that will be contacted as needed for next steps. If anyone has similar experience or has received both a green and yellow 221g please post conditions (especially from Toronto).
