    Calling all Toronto 221Gs

@ Exiled-by-221G : I was late to reply. Finally I came to USA. To answer your question, call the number to that international Visitors Office. They would take the initiative to clear your visa. I should not be rude to you but you have to take initiative. Nothing will come to you at all. You have to do phone call from your end. Ask their help !!! Tel: +1 ********* Fax: +1 ********** Email: ******************

No, I submitted my passport on 19th and they told me that you can collect from loomies. I requested if they could end my pain. The lady was kind (as I was waiting for 50 days) enough and let me allow to collect it from consulate on Friday from 3-4 pm (22 November). You can not get it on same day, for sure. 2-3 days at least. Good luck...

  6. I have a PhD in Chemistry from an US University & current work at a well known Research Institute in USA in the area of medical chemistry/drug development. I went from F1 to H1-B within USA. I had a valid I-129. I went to Consulate in Toronto to get the visa stamp. The outcome was : "nonimmigrant visa (NIV) has been refused under section 221g of the Immigration and Nationality Act, as amended, (INA) for further review by the U.S. government (USG)". They asked for my CV & research summery. After 4 days I recieve my passport, with no visa stamp. ALso recieved a letter stating that the application is under review which takes about 6-8 weeks. Will I be able to return to USA? I have a valid I-129, which should be automatically revalidated while crossing the border by road. Please suggest.

Toronto consulate's yellow sheet 221 g processing times are more or less 48-56 days! If you in TAL list then wish you a good luck...! Only one place could expedite your case is Washington DC!. Any senator's office could not do anything for you..! They could sympathize about your case. One thing everyone could do, to call FBI office to take initiative. First step starts there. I called every other office yesterday and learned those things .... You could google the numbers and start calling them.

I have a question. When they will approve the Visa for you. How long will you have in your hand to appear the consulate to submit the passport? I sent my passport to Canadian authority to stamp my permanent residency of Canada. Thank you for your information..

I think they review everyone's file on Nov 4th. Mine is still unclear. Counting my days. The worst part is, I have a kid (he was 4 months, when I left and he is 6 moths today!) in USA. What a joke USA is doing with me....
  20. I am thinking to move to Canada... We all here are not from bad background but still suffering from "slow review" process....
  21. 5 weeks.. i am sick and tired of Visa Issue...
  22. Color Codes of 221g When the consulate finds the visa applicant temporarily ineligible to get the visa then the applicant will be given a refusal form in a particular color while those whose visa is rejected will be given a refusal form in different color. A simple BLUE form of 221g indicates that the consulate is in need for extra supporting documents of the applicant or the sponsor of the applicant is required by them to take a decision on Visa Issuance. A case Number is Marked on this Form for the applicant to have further communication. A PINK form of 221g means that the applicant"s case is put forth for further Administrative Processing. The applicant will be given a Reference ID for him/her to track the details of case online. This is mostly issued if they are not satisfied about the current employer or Work Experience related information or any other issues related to the applicant"s qualification or other issues beyond our Knowledge. A WHITE form is a complex category of 221G.They return the Case to USCIS for further Verification. (Reason of doubt not known). A YELLOW form of 221g means general administrative processing. They just want make sure that all documents provided by you and the employer are genuine NO CODE - NO FORM: not given any Handout or any Code, but the Case been referred to USCIS for further Processing.
  23. This is what I got when our boss contacted : "I searched the consular database of the U.S. Consulate in Toronto, and found that the non-immigrant visa application of Dr. X is undergoing legally mandated administrative processing in order to verify his qualifications for this visa. Administrative processing often lasts about 90 days, but in some instances, it can take several months longer. We realize that these extended time periods cause frustration to many individuals, and we are sensitive to the fact that the purpose of the non-immigrant visa program is to facilitate legitimate travel to the United States. Nonetheless, the U.S. Consulate in Toronto, like all U.S. Embassies and Consulates, must adjudicate visas in accordance with the provisions of the law, and, in some cases, this involves extensive administrative processing. While we cannot predict when the processing of the visa application of Dr. X will be completed, please be assured that the Consulate and the Department of State are aware of his concerns. We will do all we can to see that the visa is adjudicated as soon as his qualifications have been verified. I hope this information is helpful, and we regret that our response cannot be more substantive at this point. Please do not hesitate to contact me at VisaNet should you need further assistance."
  24. Application ID or Case Number: XXXXXXXXXX Case Creation Date: 30-Sep-2013 Status Updated Date: 16-Oct-2013 Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks, or longer. As explained on the day of your interview, if further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved when administrative processing is finished, you will receive notification to collect the passport with the visa from the Loomis branch you selected when you booked your appointment.

I am also in the same boat. I have seen that my status dates are changing more frequently. My case was created on 30th September (my interview date) then on october 10th and now i have seen october 16th. Does it mean, it is under the microscope of FBI database? As far as I know, everything is resolved by DHS. Thanks for updates, sharing with us... I think, maintaining a status in USA is painful....
