  1. Hello All, I am applying for my 7th year H1B renewal. I got my I140 approved in 2018 against position of Senior Engineer with priority date of Feb 2017. My previous H1B for period 2016-2019 is against the position of Senior Engineer. My first H1B period was from 2013-2016 for position of Engineer. Starting January of 2018, I received promotion to Engineering Manager along with change in salary scale. Right now while applying for my extension, I had provided updated job description which is basically added responsibilities and job category was changed from previous Mechanical Engineer to Engineering Manager. However, I am being told by my attorney that my salary scale is not per what Engineering Managers make, so they will apply renewal again under the name of Senior Engineer. My questions are below: 1. Can this H1B renewal application be processed this way with reverting back to the previous title of Senior Engineer(and change the job description in application letter also) even though current working title is Engineering Manager. My linkedin profile and company website call out my title as Engineering Manager. I feel this will raise red flags. I checked the labor website for salary scale and my salary is right at Level 1 Engineering Manager salary for my state. Level 2 salary is very far off though. I would fall in Level 1 category since I have only 1 year experience as Engineering manager but prior 6 years experience in previous engineering positions. So I should qualify for Level 1 Engineering Manager scale and there should technically be no issue with salary scale since it meets the requirements. I can speak to my superiors to see if further modifications can be done to pay scale. 2. If the application can be processed that way by reverting to previous title, what actions are required from my side. I assume the job level classification for senior engineer would be increased to a higher level than previously submitted during my 2016 renewal on the LCA. Kindly advise soon on this subject. Thanks

    I94 issue-Parents US Visit

Would you be able to direct me to where and how I need to inform the CBP. Is this something which can be done online or at the airport on the day of departure, if so to whom and how. Any assistance is appreciated. Thanks

Thanks. So my mom will not have troubles and they can track the records using her airline departure records. Do we have to inform anyone about the death of my dad, I mean the immigration people.
  4. I am planning to go for H1B renewal stamping in Jan 2014. I changed my company and my H1B was transferred during the initial 3 year period. I got my first stamping in Hyderabad Consulate and there was some administrative processing delay at that time so my stamping was delayed. This time I am planning to go to Chennai consulate and get stamping done keeping in mind telangana agitations and stuff, plus some personal issues have made the family to move to chennai. Is it safe to go to chennai for stamping or will they ask too many questions about the change of consulate location. The permanent address on passport still says Hyderabad.

    I94 issue-Parents US Visit

Thanks for the reply. Do I need to call somebody or send an online enquiry enquring about my mother's I94. Also since my father passed away, will they question his I94 record since as per the date on the immigration stamp, he would leave the country by November but now that would not be possible. Or should my mother inform somebody when she departs about his demise.

    I94 issue-Parents US Visit

Hello All My mom and dad visited me in USA during the summer. I was able to retrieve the online I94 number for my father but for my mother it shows up as no record found. I am pretty sure all the information is correct with regard to passport number and date of entry to USA and stuff. The other issue is that my father passed away here in the USA during the trip and now only my mother will be travelling back to India. So how does the situation work now. We have informed Indian Consulate about the death and got passport endorsed with the same. What is the scenario with the I94 now. Please advise further on both issues. Thanks Arjun
