  1. My visa was issued on Oct 22.. exactly 6 weeks after interview on Sept 11.
  2. My visa was issued on October 22nd. Consulate confirmed that this was an erroneous message from their end.
  3. Update: Today called travel docs customer support. I was told that If I was not given any hard copy then I can print the copy of this letter and carry two copies to the drop off location. Apparently, this letter and the email that requested docs can be considered as a proof that I was given 221g afterward. They are still trying to understand why passport was asked from me when their system shows that it is with consulate Today, october 21, my case status date also got updated after Sept 30. However status is still AP. No idea what's going to happen next.
  4. Hello, I had H1B interview on September 11 and my visa was approved during the interview. I was not given any slip or 221g. But for 5 weeks my status was in Administrative Processing. Today, I received this email from Non-immigration Visa Unit saying that they want my passport, 221g letter and I-797 for final processing. The weird part is that my passport is still with the consulate and they never gave me any 221g letter. So obviously, I can't submit those 2 docs . I can only submit I797. Has anyone experienced this type of situation? Any idea what's going on? Is this a just a communication glitch or they may have misplaced my case?? See below: "IMPORTANT: If you are the principal visa applicant and you applied with your spouse and/or children, please submit their passports as well. As appropriate for your visa application type, please submit a copy of your I-797.Dear Sir/Madam:Greetings from the U.S. Consulate General, MumbaiPlease follow the instructions below in order to continue processing your 221(g) visa application. We are ready for final processing. Please submit your passport, copy of your I-797 and 221(g) letter to the Consulate General via any of the 11 document delivery locations. Carry a copy of this email for ready reference. Please visit www.ustraveldocs.com/in for more information. Please note that this email communication does not confirm that your visa is issued at this time.Regards,Non Immigrant Visa unit."
  5. My title is Associate Scientist (mid-senior position). My research field is NOT laboratory-based. It involves economic modeling (eg. cost-effectiveness) and health services research (eg. research using surveys, insurance claims data, electronic medical records) which supports the commercial side of Pharmaceutical Industry in the U.S
  6. @GopalKrishna.. Sure. Here are my details.. I first did my MS degree Pharmacy Administration in the U.S from 2008-2011. After that, I worked for 3 years (1 year on OPT, 2 years on H1b) (2011-2014). My first H1B stamping in 2013 was really smooth and had gotten my passport in 2 days. From August 2014, I decided to pursue PhD in the same field and got my F1 visa stamped. My previous H1B was canceled. In 2018, I graduated with Ph.D. and started working for a research consulting firm. I first started working on OPT from August 2018. In April 2019, my employer filed for H1B.. (as a transfer since I had several years left on my previous H1b). My H1B petition was approved on April 26th with immediate activation since it was a transfer. Ever since I have been working on H1B status (April 2019 - until today). I don't believe my field comes in TAL list either. On October 4th, I saw that SEVIS had corrected my OPT end date from 09/30/2019 to 04/30/2019 since that's when my H1B activation was beginning as per I 797. I am not sure if this is just a coincidence with administrative processing. What do you think could be causing a delay? Thank you, HK

Visa Stamping Ottawa Passport Return Wait Time

I had my H1b interview on Sept 11 and VO said visa approvd. I am still waiting for passport and my status shows Admin Processing
  13. I had my h1B interview on Sept 11, 2019 in Mumbai, India Consulate. It was straightforward and my VO said your visa is approved but it will take 1 week for the passport. I did not receive any slip. It has been 20 business days (4 calendar weeks) already but no sign of passport. Visa status on CEAC website: Sept 10 - Case Created Sept 11- Interview and Admin Processing Sept 19 - case updated to 'Application Received' Sept 24- Case updated status same Sept 27 - Case updated status same Sept 30 - Administrative Processing Does anyone know what is happening? Has anyone faced a similar situation? If you can share your experience, that would be helpful to understand how much time it takes for AP overall. Thanks!!
  14. @AJBHON I am in a similar situation except that my visa was approved and I was not told of any administrative processing. My Interview was on September 11, 2019. I have been waiting from last 4 weeks. My status is in administrative processing. There are a number of people in a similar situation where there VO approves visa and then application goes into AP. Is there any update on your case on CEAC?
