  1. My wife was on valid H1B visa here in USA with approved I797 but not visa stamp. Recently we filled the I-539 for change of status to H4. We will be travelling to Europe and from there to India. We both have Schengen visa (Class C) Our flight back to india is from Paris via LHR(Heathrow) to Mumbai. I do have valid H1B stamp in my passport but my wife does not have H4 stamp as she'll be getting it in India. Does I and she require UK Transit visa when travelling to India via British Airways from Heathrow airport ?? Thanks, Vishal
  2. What kind of I797 you have. I mean to say is it I797A or I797B. If I797A than it comes with renewed I-94. If I797B than it does not come with I-94 and you are illegal in US after 180 days of I-94 expiry. - Please consult your immigration attorney on this. I am not an attorney and the reply is based on my experience.
  3. Hi there, I have visa interview date on March 12th in Mumbai. I have I-797B and this is my 2nd time stamping in Mumbai. Before I was working fulltime for an employer and did successful stamping in Mumbai in 2009 but now I am on EC model. Reason I have i-797B is because my past employer company didnt do good business and they were unable to pay me for 2 months (fake promises etc.. long story). Meanwhile i transferred my visa to another company and working with them since June 2012 and same client since than. In my case, I also have my i94 expired on Dec31st 2012 and since I have 180 days time period to go out of country and do the stamping, I am going out now in March. Please let me know what kind of documentation I will have to take with me apart from regular: - Visa Interview confirmation letter - I797B - I129 - PayStubs - Employment Letter - Client Letter ( Client will not provide that) - Current Employer W2 - Past Employer W2 ( they havent provided yet and chances are very less that they would) - Pay stubs from past employer but missing 2 months (May & mid- June) (i have till april mid) - Petition package - Masters degree in US certificate - Other educational documents What kind of tricky interview questions I should expect from the interviewer? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks, VModi

    About Canada Visitor Visa

You can also apply the Canada Visitor Visa Online... Take that eligibility test http://www.cic.gc.ca/ctc-vac/cometocanada.asp Once you submit your documents, after few days you will receive email from Immigration office to send you Passport and they will stamp it and mail it back to you.
  5. Thanks everyone for the responses. That answered my question.
  6. Hi there, I need to go to Canada for getting my H1B stamping for myself. I wanted to apply for Canada visitor visa. I checked http://www.cic.gc.ca...h/index-can.asp site and went to http://www.cic.gc.ca...ing-started.asp link and filled the form and it says that I am eligible to apply Canada visitor visa online. I currently live in Florida and I am on H1B visa and Indian Citizen. My question is, Has anyone applied for the Canada visitor visa online ? Can an indian citizen living in United States really do that ? I filled the eligibility form twice/thrice and still it say I am eligible. May be I am doing something wrong or the Canada immigration system has changed recently and you can apply online. If yes, than how will the stamp on visa for Canada work? Will it be a paper visa like its one for UAE? If no, than I need to send the application package to Canada Immigration office in NY correct? Any help is greatly appreciated. - Vishal Mody

Stamping Canada or Jamaica or India?

http://jamaica.visahq.com/requirements/India/resident-United_States/ Yes, Indian Resident living in USA or even anywhere in world does not require tourist visa for any common wealth countries. Thanks for the response though. -Vishal
  8. Hi there, My first H1B was started in Oct 2008 and I got it stamped in Mumbai. No issues during that time. My renewed H1B started in July 2012 and I need to get it stamped. I currently live in South Florida area. I am confused about either going to Canada or Jamaica or India(Mumbai) itself. I work for a direct client of my current employer. "MC" model. Client may not give Client letter. Jamaica is very near to Florida and as being Indian resident we don't need Jamaica tourist visa (commonwealth country thing) and flight cost are very cheap. Canada would need to apply tourist visa and later all usual process. India - always an option but want to get this stamping done as quick as possible and India trip is always longer one. Where are more stamping available dates? Where is the success ration more nowadays? Any help/suggestions are greatly appreciated. -VModi
