  1. Hi All, I apologize for the late reply. I received an e-mail from Mumbai consulate for re-interview and i attended my visa interview in the 2nd week of July. I was not asked much questions. VO asked me very basic questions.....nothing related to my work, my project or my employer. then i was granted my visa. but it took about 15 days for me to receive my passport stamped. I just returned to US.
  2. Here are my case details: Went for the stamping interview on 11th January got 221(G) My case was returned to USCIS on 2nd Feb.... USCIS received my documents on 25th Feb. My employer received an RFE in the 3rd week of March My employer responded to that RFE on 9th April Got it reaffirmed on 21st may Got an e-mail of a call for re-interview on 18th June.
  3. @siliyaz: i went to Mumbai consulate. Interview was on 11th January. yes, my employer got reaffirmed copy.... @sg1010: i contacted mumbai helpdesk....after few e-mails, they asked me to come down. @lostpacket: Thanks...i will keep that in mind......
  4. Hi, My petition was reaffirmed last month and now I got an e-mail for re-interview. Below is what that e-mail says. "You DO NOT require scheduling another appointment. Please visit the Consulate General any business day at 10.30 am with your pending letter, passport, courier envelope and other documents pertaining to your visa application. " I understand when they say 'other documents pertaining to visa application' which includes the latest client letter. Can anyone please help me to understand if what means 'your pending letter' ? Is it 221(G) or the letter mentioning my 'case returned to USCIS for review' ? Also, do I need to all those documents which i had already submitted for 221(G) ?
  5. I got an e-mail today fro the consulate saying: "You DO NOT require scheduling another appointment. Please visit the Consulate General any business day at 10.30 am with your pending letter, passport, courier envelope and other documents pertaining to your visa application." I hope the PIMS has been updated on my case. Does anyone have any idea if what it means when they say "Pending Letter" ???

    PIMS Verification ????

@ immigrationseeker: In my case, i went for H1B stamping interview at mumbai consulate in January andwas given 221(G). later, my case was returned to USCIS for the review. USCIS reaffirmed on May 21st. Mumbai consulate does not have the update on my case. Do you suggest me to follow the same you mentioned above???
  7. @ DontWorryBe Happy: have you got the PIMS updated for your case? If yes, how long did it take? Involving a senator is any help?

Case sent back to USCIS for review

@trivedi3377: one of my friend had a similar situation. Below is his details. He had a visa interview on 1st February 2012 where she was asked some questions. Visa officer kept some of the documents and issued a 221(g) with only one thing mentioned...."Petition is returned to USCIS for review" He never heard anything from the USCIS or consulate for almost 2 and half months....in middle of April he received package from Chennai consulate returning all the document which were collected during visa interview. In couple of days he received an e-mail from consulate asking for some more personal information for admin processing. He replied to that e-mail and within a week he got another e-mail where consulate asked him to submit his passport for stamping. During all these days, he was seeing the same thing on USCIS web site what you have mentioned about your case. But actually his case was never sent back to USCIS. because if the case is returned to USCIS then a person need to go for the visa interview in person. Also they don't return the documents if the case is sent back to USCIS. So i think his case was on hold at the chennai consulate only. and i believe its the same in ur case as well. Anyways, you can check with U.S.VFS helpdesk by e-mail. If you were interviewed at mumbai then here is the e-mail id for that: infousmumbai@vfshelpline.com
  11. @pappu_mobile: it means they will verify the information you send them and then very soon they will ask you to submit your passport for stamping.....that is what happens mostly..... good luck... :)

Case sent back to USCIS for review

@trivedi3377: One of my friend had a simillar situation. Here are some details about his case. He went for Visa interview on 1st Feb 2012 at Chennai consulate. Visa officer interviewed him and ask for some documents. After looking at the documents, Visa office issued him a 221(g) mentioning only one thing : "the case is being sent back to USCIS for the reviw". The visa officer kept those documents for the review. Then he never heard of anythng from consulate for almost 2 and half months. Then suddenly he received all the documents back from Chennai consulate. and next day he received an e-mail from consulate asking for some details to complete the admin process. He replied that e-mail and within a week he was asked to submit his passport for the stamping. and he got his visa stamped. But, actually his case was never sent back to USCIS. Because if the case is sent back to USCIS, they don't return the documents to the candidate. Also, if it is returned to USCIS, you need to go again for the visa interview. so i believe, your case is on hold. you can check the current status with VF
  14. I had my interview on 12th January 2012 at mumbai consulate. i was given white slip.
  15. i have the similar situation...... i received an e-mail from USCIS on 21st May saying that petition is reaffirmed and case status as " Post Decision Activity" and after couple days, on 23rd May, i got an e-mail saying "an amended notice on this case was mailed describing how we will process your case." and case status as "Acceptance" Does anyone know if why the status is showing again as Acceptance ????
