Jas_on_H1.. i know a lot are confused so am i still with the ongoing nonsense. yes moving on to other ways to get back. I had consulted a lawyer and he was of the opinion not to wait as it may even take up to a year to get this sorted out. Apparently every H1 filed is on case by case basis, so it does not have to impact to the fact that you have a pending issue. ( these is just my opinion based on my talks with a lawyer) Gettign a new H1 is not guaranteed. But if you can get a Fulltime with a reputed company your chances are better ( Easier said than done) but no harm in trying instead of waiting and let some person in the consulate dictate your career and your life.

same situation as you are in only difference is mine was on jan 18th. My case has been sent back to USCIS and its been 2 months since then and no news. I infact had a conference call withe USCIS officer and my employer. The USCIS officer has no clue where my file is what my petition is or what is being done to it. I dont know if it is an intentional effort or just plain carelessness. Anyways i have decided to move on than wait on this forever. Not the info i think you wanted to hear but hey it just might be my case so!!

All I called up the USCIS. After fiddling my way around the recorded information finally got through to live assistance. (which infact is very tricky you need to select option for changing address). And when i put in my case status ( H1B receipt) the asked me if i am employee or employer. I said employee,so the Customer care rep said "we can provide information only to the employer at this point of time". I conveyed this to my employer and hopefully they will call and check with them to see if there is any information that we dont know that they have. Also, do any case which go to USCIS for reaffirmation actually gets resolved? This is just for me to look at other avenues Thanks Praveen

I am on EC model. I am direclty hired to work with system integrator. so i believe it's EC ..Yes the response was by Vfs... currently my H1B is in post decision activity. They received my case on 9th march while my interview was on jan 18th, What they were doing for so many days i have no clue. On a different note, I would like to thank you all for the support. even if there is no good news at least the support is of some consolation on a otherwise tense time here. Thanks Praveen

Hello everyone, Below is the response i got from vfs mumbai. I know it means that decision is upto USCIS to either reaffirm my visa or reject it. Dear Sir/Madam, As per the US Consulate your case has been returned to the Kentucky Consular Center in the United States. You may contact the USCIS office for further information. Please consider this case closed at their office. Regards, Sairam U.S VFS Helpdesk Team Do all issues go to Kentucky Consular Center or is it for specific reviews? Has anyone here got any information about the kentucky consular center? Thanks Praveen

    Mumbai - Case StatusTracker

I called up the VFS mumbai hotline and told them about my situation(221(g) Yellow slip). The customer rep asked me to send and email to infousmumbai@vfshelpline.com with my information (Passport number,CEAC Barcode and H1B Receipt number) and wait for the embassy to respond. I dont know if this is of any help or use but no harm in trying i guess. has anyone got any response before from the consulate/embassy? Thanks Praveen

Interview date : 18th Jan 2012 221G (color and docs asked): Yellow, no documents asked. they kept a copy of I797 and LCA. docs submission date: - Date CEAC barcode appeared on the website: Waiting The VO asked some questions, asked me to review and sign the document in which she had noted the questions asked and my answers. And then she gave yellow slip telling me that they have to do some mandatory Admin Processing. No other information given. Asked me to check for the CEAC bar code number to appear on the case tracker its been more than a month now and no response. I called up the consulate but they did not provide any information and asked to keep checking the case tracker. thanks Praveen
