    Automatic Visa Re validation clarification

Make sure you don't stay more than 30 days and don't go for your visa stamping there. Also carry a print out of the AVR rule from CBP website. I entered using AVR in 2014 from Canada, the first officer I encountered didn't know about AVR and was pissed off, she then called her senior who knew this rule and was very cooperative. Just be ready to prove your legal status since the beginning of your visa till date, other than that no issues.
  3. I am on H1B visa and have a 797 approval notice but my spouse's H4 visa is still pending though we have received a 797C notice that the case is still pending approval. Do you think its safe to travel to STT and return back to US without any issues? I heard there is no passport or visa required to travel to STT but while returning back they check for legal status. I am more concerned about my spouse's entry back.
  4. My dad was born in country A, but migrated to country B when he was 5yrs old and has been living since in country B. He has a passport of country B as well and never had passport for country A. On DS 160 there are following questions: 1. Country/Region of Origin (nationality) - This will be country B, am I right? 2. Do you hold or have you held any nationality other than the one indicated above on nationality - If I say yes then next question is if you held passport of another country - So do I say Yes for country A nationality and then No for country A passport? or do I say No in the first question itself because he was just 5yrs old and never had a passport of country A? Thanks in advance!

    Drop Box H1 Stamping

I think you are NOT eligible for Drop Box because your most recent visa stamp was not in India. You can look at all criteria here: http://www.ustraveldocs.com/in/in-niv-visarenew.asp But you only want to go for Drop Box then could be eligible in Jamaica, thats my thought, you should research more on this
  7. Hello, I am applying a visitors visa (B2) for my brother and his wife, but we don't know the exact travel date yet, it could be this year (June 2016) of next year (June 2017). Here are my questions: 1. Is it possible to apply for a visa now by giving a tentative date of 3 months later, e.g. June 2016? 2. Lets say they get a 10 yr visa approved for June 2016 travel but they don't travel this year and will travel next year in June 2017 then does this cause any issues at port of entry? 3. Generally how many years of visitors visa gets approved? Thanks!

    Visa stamping experience Mumbai

My interview was on Oct 15th and I got an email on Oct 16th evening that the passport is ready for pickup. So I collected my passport on Oct 17th. No delays and the visa stamp was as I expected.
  11. My H1b interview was on Oct 15th 2014 in Mumbai. It is approved. I am on the 7th year of H1 extension based on pending labor, which later got approved and I-140 petition has been applied a few weeks before the interview. I am on EVC model Below are the questions asked: Q. Who is the petitioner A. My employers name. Q. Name of client and location A. Client's name and location (must match LCA) Q. Annual salary A. Gross annual pay Q. What is the role at current project A. Role / Title as per the SOW. This could be slightly different than the LCA which is fine) Q. Show previous visa stamps (with prev Co) A. it was in old passport and showed it to the VO Q. How many years worked with prev employer A. X years Q. Education details and how am I qualified for current assignments in IT projects A. I have done my Bachelors of Commerce w/ major in business management. VO asked if its a 3 yrs course, I said yes. VO asked how I was able to get into a technical field. I said I have done a course from a technical institute (IBM owned) which is equivalent to a bachelors in computer science in US. VO said your visa is approved. No documents were asked and it went pretty smooth. Though you should carry all docs as mentioned in this forum in various posts. Good luck to people going for their interviews!

    INTERVIEW QUESTIONS AND CHECK LIST

This is a great compilation of stamping requirements, thanks for sharing. I have an interview at Mumbai consulate on Oct 15th 2104, will update on how it goes.
  14. I wanted to clarify one doubt regarding the return of I-94 card on departure from US. I have an old I-94 attached on my passport, this is when I was last admitted in US. I recently got my H1b extension approved and hence the latest I-94 I have is part of the I-797A notice. I am traveling out of US this month, so I am assuming that I need to return both I-94 cards when I leave US, am I right? If not then please let me know the right thing to do. Appreciate your help!
