Start small business on H4 EAD and work full time job same time

Hi ,

I have H4EAD and MBA from US university.I currently work full time job but have an plan to start a small business by one additional headcount

 

Can I own business in my name, run it from management level and same time work on full time job?

Please let me know your thoughts and suggestions.

No reason why you cannot as the H4 EAD gives unrestricted work authorization.

Sure you can. But be aware that you have to stop running your business if the EAD becomes invalid, e.g., because of expiration or your spouse not being in valid H1 status.

So, practically, you'd need to have somebody else to run the business.

@JoeF-Thanks for headsup.My spouse employer(Big corp) has applied for greencard and his I140 is approved ,so probability of greencard rejection is very low.But will talk with lawyers to prepare a contingency plan in such situation.

Hi Chandrakala,

 

Its not the question of rejection of green card, its the question of H1B, like if your husband job is in trouble(god sake not) but if it happens then your H4 EAD also vanishes.
