kk78
Hi, I have got my H1b stamped recently, but i lost my original I797. Can i travel with I797 Soft Copy? will there be any issue at POE? Link to comment
pontevecchio
Yes, you can. They have access to your records if needed. Link to comment
rksingh
You mentioned that you got your stamping recently: I assume that means that the visa stamp has correct details of your current employer and is valid till your current H1 petition date. If this is true, then simply present your passport only to at the POE. The CBP officer will make your I94 valid till your visa validity date. ***Note: This does NOT mean that you should not have a photocopy of your I797. Definitely carry that with you just in case the officer asks for it. ***I have faced the same situation as you: In my case the US consulate in New Delhi themselves lost my original I797. I just presented my passport with visa stamp at POE and had no issues. Link to comment
