H1B extension in process CA Drivers License expired and renewal process

Hi All,

 

I am not sure how many are aware of the AB60 like I was till this evening...I have my H1B extension still in processing stage since October 2015 and my DL got expired on nov 2015...However I went into DMV in the same situation 2 years back when my DL was in extension processing...I took the receipt and asked for temp DL and the DMV officer rejected it...

 

But it seems there is a new rule in CA and it is called, I am putting the link from DMV that lets you get the 3 month temporary DL with almost no headaches...seems not all DMV officials know this yet since this rule has come in since Jan 2015.... I believe this can be spread as much into the immigrant communities that are stuck in this limbo as I was...
