rahuldagr8
HiI am in California, my driving license is expiring in 1 month and my Employer has filed H1 Ext for me, my i94 is also expiring with H1.I got receipt notice from USCIS. I took receipt notice, passport, apartment lease agreement and letter from employer stating h1 ext filing details and receipt number to DMV but they refused to renew my Driving license. Knowing extension approval are taking long time (4-5 months) what options do I have. ThanksRah Link to comment

kirshi
Hi Rah, I heard about "Save" process in DMV, check with your local DMV if this process exist or try checking with other DMV in your state. This should help. Please note - This is just a thought as per some information I gathered and this is not a legal advice or does not guaranty any information provided. Please recheck and with local DMV and follow as per their advice. Thanks, K1 Link to comment

all max
My H1B and I94 was expiring on 18th Sept. My employer filed for extension. But I was worried because my driving license was also expiring on 18th Sept. So I referred to a few posting on this forum and got a few guidance. and I applied for renewal license on 25th Aug. Got my renewed DL today valid till 25th Aug 2017 (1 year). Very simple process, I filled out the DL renewal form and took my I797C original with me. The agent checked my current DL, took my finger prints and accepted the application. He than ran my application under SAVE program which came negative. He then told me that I will have to wait for 2-3 weeks for a letter from USCIS/DHS etc. I started following up the status on SAVE program website Www.uscis.gov/save/casecheck. I used my I94 number and my birthdate on the site and got my SAVE case verification number. Using that I was able to monitor my status every day. Till thursday 8th Sept, the status was showing "under review" . But on Friday it changed to "Case returned to agency". But I didnt receive any letter so I decided to go today to DMV Texas Mega Center Gessner Road at 5PM. I went there told them about my case. The agent took my current license, ran it through the system and vola!! My case was cleared. She said my renewed license will be valid for 1 year (I dont know why but others got it only for 8 months, may be I was lucky). She destroyed my existing license, gave me a temporary permit and told me to wait for 2 weeks to receive the new license in my mail. :) Total days in the process: 17 Link to comment
tjsreenath
Hi, Looks i am also in similar condition. I entered USA in April 2016 and my PoE is Atlanta, Georgia. During that time immigration officer written in Passport exit date as July23rd, 2018 (based on I 797) but later when i checked in I-94 it appearing as Sep 23rd, 2018. Recently i changed my job and applied for Driving license in NC, they issued a 20 days temporary card and told me that they need clarification on these two days, and sending details to SAVE Systems. I could see they logged in Save system on Sep13th and it is showing status of " Additional Verification Needed ". Not sure whether i need to provide any details or they were internally checking on this. Just let me know whether you also observed the same status during your check. Thanks, Sree Link to comment
