family based greencard and reentry into USA

I applied for I-485 and AP for my mother.  She got the AP immediately.  She had to go to India for some family matters and her AP is valid until Dec 15th, 2015.  In the meanwhile, she got her Greencard and it is with me.  Recently she fell and broke her hip and doctors are advising her not to travel for at least two more months. The following are my questions.

1. Can she come back to USA after expiration of AP with her Greencard?

2. Can she apply for extended stay (I think, they give one extension) from outside India?

3. Can I extend her AP and claim her GreenCard once she is in USA?

I am curious to know the response to your question. However, could you help me with the following.

 

1. Did your mother not have an interview for her I-485...i.e. did she get her GC without any interview process.

 

The reason I am asking is we have applied for our parents I -485 in July, 2015 from New Jersey. I am not sure what Benefits center I should be checking for I-485 processing times. If they were to travel to India, we will apply for their AP. 

 

2. Can they receive their GC's without them being the country. Will they not get an interview call first ?
