Hello Members,

I have in a great tension.I am currently in US. I changed Employer A to Empolyer B in US. visa from Emp A was valid till 30 Sep 2015. I got new I797A from Emp B, valid from 15Sep2015 to 2018.

My wife was having expired visa (expired not within 12 months). My wife and infant son applied for H4 visa thru Drop box.All the documents submitted as per the requirement [my latest petition (from Empolyer B),my visa (from Emp A, validity till 30Sep2015) and all other docs etc etc]
They submitted the documents in VFS office, after two days it reached US consulate and status changed to "Ready". After two days the status changed to "Administrative processing". When I tracked the passport status after two days, it showed "Ready for pick up" but visa status was still "Administrative processing".
We collected the passports from VFS office on 7 th Oct, but there was no visa stamped. Recieved one 221g Blue slip. 221g Blue slip telling "You may appear for an interview with a consular officer on Monday-Friday, 8 am to 12 pm. Please bring this with you to the interview. DO NOT MAKE A NEW APPOINTMENT"

In "Other comments" column its mentioned as "Please bring spouse's valid non-expired visa Or work permit".

I am wondering "spouse's valid non-expired visa Or work permit" request from 221g. Those all documents we submitted in dropbox.

Anybody have a similar experience? Any reason for H4 visa getting 221g for these reasons?

My wife and son having travel plan on 22nd Oct. Now I am most worried about the visa approval and visa stamped passport reciept. My wife is planning to attend interview on 13 Oct 2015.

Does anybody know how many days it will take to recieve the passport after visa approval ? (Consider that the Visa officer will tell us "your visa is approved" on 23rd itself ).
It will go again admin processing status (for weeks!!!) after approval? Many people are telling in other blogs like the are waiting weeks after document submission per 221g blue slip (But in my case, no documents specifically asked).

Thanks
Raj

But latest update more confusing: My wife and kid went for interview on 13th Nov, Visa officer didnt ask much questions, just asked what is the living city in US and when was our marriage. Then he told both visas approved, it will take 3 days to reach to her hand
13Nov : wife visa+kid visa- admin process
14th Nov: kid visa issued, wife visa admin process
15th nov: kid passport ready to pickup, wife visa admin process
16thNov-18th Nov:wife visa admin process

We have travel plans on 22nd, non-refundable ticket If visa is not issuing today 19th, all plans will be in vein
